Is it March 8 a holiday in Italy? International Woman Day (March 8) is celebrated in every corner of Italy! In this day the country celebrates what the Italian refer to as “la Giornata internazionale della donna”, or simply – “la Festa della donna”. Although March 8 is not an officila/formal celebration, this is a strongly felt moment and a real opportunity for remembering the huge achievements by women in every walk of life as well as the discriminations against womankind. In this day, giving as a present to women a branch of golden wattle - referred to as a fiore di mimosa - is customary. This spring flower has become a romantic symbol throughout the entire country. We'd like to seize this opportunity to wish a wonderful day and - more extensively - a fulfilling future to all women in planet earth.
